2025년 유엔참전국 후손 교류캠프 해단식 격려사

존경하는 유엔참전국 후손과 내외 귀빈 여러분!안녕하십니까? 국가보훈부 차관 이희완입니다.
Distinguished descendants of UN Sending States and honored guests,Good day. I am Hee-Wan Lee, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs of the Republic of Korea.

유엔참전국 후손 교류캠프 일정을 마무리하는 오늘 이 자리에서 여러분을 다시 만나게 되어 대단히 뜻깊고 반가운 마음입니다.
It is truly a pleasure and a meaningful moment to meet you again here today, as we conclude the UN Sending States Descendants Exchange Camp.

먼저, DMZ와 부산을 잇는 캠프 일정을 열정적으로 소화해주신 13개국의 청년 여러분께 깊은 감사와 격려의 말씀을 드립니다.
First and foremost, I would like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation to the young participants from 13 countries, who enthusiastically took part in this journey stretching from the DMZ to Busan.

아울러, 하버드대학교와 메사추세츠공과대학교의 교목이신 <레베카 김> 박사님과 <데이빗 엄>님을 비롯한 SOH 관계자분들,
My sincere thanks also go to Dr. Rebecca Kim and Rev. David Eom, chaplains from Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and to all members of the Sead of Hope Foundation for their dedicated support.

참전용사의 딸로서 참가자들에게 생생한 이야기를 전하고 캠프를 취재하고자 형제의 나라 튀르키예에서 와준 <엘다 사순>님, 현역 미군 장교로서 6박 7일간 모든 일정을 휴베르팀과 함께한 <대릴 딜츠> 소령님께도 각별한 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
Special thanks to Ms. Elda Sasun from Türkiye—a daughter of a Korean War veteran—who came all the way to share powerful stories and document the camp, and to Major Darryl Diltz, an active-duty U.S. military officer, who participated in every part of the program alongside Team Huwer for all seven days.

그리고, 3일간의 숙식을 제공해준 그랜드모먼트 유스호스텔의 박수영 대표님과다양한 프로그램을 후원해준 유엔평화기념관의 김광우 관장님 및 오은택 부산남구청장님께도 깊이 감사드립니다.

Also, I’d like to thank Mr. Soo-young PARK, the Chief of the Grand Moment Youth Hostel and all the staff members for offering us with a warm hospitality and a great service for three days.
And Director of the United Nations Peace Memorial Gwang-Woo KIM and Eun-Taek OH, the mayor of Busan Nam-Gu for supporting us with various programs.

75년 전, 대한민국을 지켜낸 유엔참전용사님들의 헌신과 참전의 연대가 오늘까지 이어져, 13개국 130여 명의 후손들이 대한민국에 모여 한마음으로 체험하고 함께 성장할 수 있었습니다.
Thanks to the legacy of sacrifice and solidarity shown by UN veterans 75 years ago, over 130 descendants from 13 countries were able to come together here in Korea—to learn, experience, and grow as one.

6박 7일 동안, 여러분은 음식, 음악, 패션을 비롯한 다양한 문화 콘텐츠를 통해 대한민국의 보훈문화를 이해하고, DMZ와 유엔평화기념관, 캠프 험프리스, 유엔기념공원 등 보훈과 안보 현장을 직접 체험했습니다.
이를 통해 여러분의 선조들이 지켜낸 자유와 평화의 소중함을 가슴에 새기고 6·25전쟁과 대한민국을 다시 한번 생각해 볼 수 있었기를 바랍니다.
Over the course of this seven-day journey, you experienced Korean veterans culture through food, music, fashion, and other cultural content.You also visited meaningful historical and security sites such as the DMZ, the United Nations Peace Memorial Hall, Camp Humphreys, and the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea—engaging firsthand with Korea’s history of remembrance and security.
Through this, I hope you were able to engrave in your hearts the precious value of freedom and peace that your ancestors protected,and reflect once again on the Korean War and the Republic of Korea.

여러분은 유엔참전용사들의 후손이자 이번 캠프에 참여함으로써 선조들의 숭고한 헌신의 역사를 이어가게 된 '평화의 대사'로서 이 자리에 서 계십니다.
You stand here today as descendants of UN veterans,and by participating in this camp, you are carrying on the noble legacy of your ancestors—as Ambassadors of Peace.

'M.A.P. Together'라는 이번 캠프의 슬로건처럼,우리는 함께 기억해야 합니다.(Memory)
자유는 공짜가 아니란 것을,
use as the slogan of this camp, “M.A.P. Together”, states:
We must keep our “Memory”, that freedom is not free.

그리고, 우리는 함께 행동해야 합니다.(Act)
평화를 지키고 전 세계로 확산할 수 있도록,
And we must “Act”, to protect peace and help spread it across the world.

끝으로, 우리는 함께 나아가야 합니다.(Progress)
자유와 평화에 대한 위협에 굴하지 않고 그 가치를 지켜내기 위해,
And lastly, we must make “Progress”, to uphold the values of freedom and peace without yielding to any threat.

이제 여러분은 다시 각자의 삶으로 돌아가지만, 이곳에서 함께한 인연과 우정만큼은 오래도록 마음속에 남아 앞으로의 삶에 밑그림이 되기를 바랍니다.
Now, as you return to your respective lives,I hope that the bonds and friendships you formed here will remain in your hearts for a long time,and become the foundation of your future journey.

대한민국 정부는 여러분이 보여준 열정과 귀중한 피드백을 바탕으로 후손캠프를 지속적으로 발전시켜 유엔참전용사님들의 피와 땀으로 맺어진 귀중한 연대를 영원히 이어나가겠습니다.
Based on the passion and valuable feedback you’ve shown,the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, will continue to develop the descendants’ camp, ensuring that the precious solidarity forged through the blood and sweat of UN veterans is carried on forever.

끝으로, 캠프에 성실하게 임해주신 후손 여러분께 깊은 감사의 말씀을 드리며 여러분의 앞날에 무궁한 발전이 있기를 기원합니다. 감사합니다.
Lastly, I would like to express my deep gratitude to all descendants who participated sincerely in the camp,and I wish you endless growth in the days ahead.
