싱가포르와 맺은 50년의 인연, 앞으로 더 깊어질 협력을 기대합니다

8월 8일 오늘은 대한민국과 싱가포르가 수교를 맺은지 50주년이 되는 뜻깊은 날입니다.

오늘을 기념하며 타르만 샨무가라트남 싱가포르 대통령과 축하 서한을 교환하고, 1975년 외교 관계 수립 이후 지난 반 세기 동안 양국이 이루어낸 눈부신 발전을 함께 축하했습니다.

올해 양국 관계 격상을 통해 앞으로도 두 나라의 우호 협력 관계를 더욱 강화하고, 향후 100년 우정을 향한 새로운 여정 역시 함께해 나갈 수 있길 기대합니다.

Today, August 8, marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Singapore.

To commemorate the occasion, I exchanged congratulatory letters with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam of Singapore and celebrated the remarkable progress our two countries have made since establishing diplomatic ties in 1975.

With the elevation of bilateral relations this year, I look forward to further strengthening our bonds of friendship and cooperation, and to embarking on a new journey over the next century.
