2026년 한미우호의 밤, 2026 June Festival 축사

존경하는 주한미군 여러분.
Distinguished guests, especially General Xavier T. Brunson,
and USFK service members,

대한민국의 자유와 평화를 지켜주셔서 감사드립니다.
I would like to express my deepest gratitude and respect
to all of you for your steadfast dedication
to the freedom and peace of the Republic of Korea.

오늘 우리는 2026 한미우호의 밤을 통해 우리의 우정과 동맹이 얼마나 중요한지 다시 한번 생각하게 됩니다.
Today, we have come together for the 2026 June Festival
to celebrate the friendship and alliance between our two nations.

자리를 마련해주신 이용준, 손경식 회장님께 감사드립니다.

for organizing this meaningful event.

대한민국에 있어, 미국은 한국전 이후 75년이 넘게 이곳의 자유와
평화를 함께 지켜준 가장 강한 동맹국입니다.
For the Republic of Korea, the United States
has been our strongest ally, standing shoulder to shoulder with us
in defending freedom and peace
for more than seventy five years since the Korean War.

대한민국은 주한미군 장병의 희생과 공헌을 결코 잊지 않겠습니다.
The Republic of Korea will never forget the dedication
and contributions of USFK the service members.

브런슨 사령관님이 말씀 주셨듯이 양국의 강력한 동맹에 있어
무기나 군사작전도 있지만 우정, 신뢰, 공동의 가치 등에 있습니다.
As General Brunson said,
a strong alliance is built not only on weapons and military capabilities,
but more importantly on the friendship, trust, and shared values that unite our two nations.

오늘 이 자리가 그런 자리가 되기를 희망합니다.
I hope this evening will serve as a meaningful opportunity
to further strengthen the ROK–U.S. alliance and friendship.
